Est. 1-31-28 Job Finder Here The North Carolina State Em ployment Service has moved Polk county from the Rutherfordton branch to the Hendersonville branch. M'r. J. 0. Wells, manager of the Hendersonville branch, was in Tryon today interviewing peo ple who have filed for jobs and he will be in Tryon every Thursday afternoon from 2 to 3:45 to assist employees in getting jobs, and als 0 to help employers find workers of every qualifications. He will be at Saluda on the same days from 11 a. m., to 12:45. The Em ployment Service is linked up with similar agencies all over the state and when a person is looking for a good cook, maid, butler, waiter, editor, lawyer, clerk, mechanic, he can get his choice of a large num ber of people registered with the Employment servicce. / If such a person is not available in this territory they can get in touch with the right man anywhere in the United States. “CURB”REPORTER This is really a space filler to day. Sr., 69. prominent farmer of Lynn, died this morning about 12:30 at his home after several days’ illness following a stroke. Funeral ser vices will be held Friday after noon at 1:30 at Friendship Baptist church near S&luda. Funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Malcolm Ross and Rev. A. T. Howard. The deceased is survived by his widow, the former Miss George Ella Rhodes; two sons, Charles. Jr., and J. Bryan, of Lynn; and five daughters, Mrs. Janie Laughter, of Saluda; Mrs. Katherine Thomp son of Asheville; Mrs. Hattie Skinner of Columbus; Mrs. Pau line Gibson and Mrs. Annie Stepp, of Lynn; also one sister, Mrs. George Foster, of Columbus. He had large family connections throughout the county. FEDERATION MANAGER WILL BE PROMOTED Announcement has been made by the Farmers Federation that Claude Fisher, manager of the Tryon branch store, will be pro moted to Asheville to take charge of the wholesale department of the Farmers Federation. Mr. Fisher ha 3 been manager of the local unit for several years and has won a number of prizes for the conduct of the business here. He is a member of the Tryon Board of Commissioners and is ac tive in fraternal organizations. He will be succeeded on January 15th by William Francis of the Caro lina Hatcheries, Greensboro, N. at one time was stationed pt fPfe Tryon warehouse for a ishort period. He will be assisted Bill White.
